Tokyo Brand ESC Launches New Fashion and Lifestyle Range, Blending Japanese Artisanship with Contemporary Design

Tokyo-based premium fashion and lifestyle label ESC introduces its latest collection, merging contemporary art from a renowned British artist with high-quality Japanese fabrics and advanced dyeing techniques. The new range includes both fashion and homeware items.

Building on its core values of Japanese craftsmanship, ESC introduces a dynamic twist through an exclusive print by British artist Weirdcore, famed for his striking visuals created for internationally renowned musicians. This one-of-a-kind design, inspired by cutting-edge music, brings a bold, artistic element to both fashion and interiors. The homeware collection, in particular, showcases premium textiles crafted from natural raw materials, delivering both style and comfort, while maintaining a strong commitment to ethical practices.

The collection features nine cushion designs, three bag models, and a variety of accessories, including caps, stoles, belts, and a shirt. These products will be available starting in mid-October 2024 at the ESC online store, as well as at the London-based concept shop, Wolf & Badger. The complete clothing line will launch in November.

HOMEWARE
ESC’s homeware line is designed to enhance everyday living through modern, timeless design and high-quality craftsmanship. The debut cushion collection is made from a luxurious blend of cashmere wool and organic cotton, supplied by renowned Japanese textile makers. The prints are meticulously handcrafted by dyeing studios in Kyoto and Tokyo, known for their century-long expertise in merging traditional techniques with contemporary innovations. The designs feature music-inspired artwork, complemented by rich Iron Grey derived from Japanese mineral dyes and Pale Pink from Akane (madder root) herbal dyes, adding a refined touch to any living space.

BAG
The new Carrier Bag is a unique fusion of a bucket bag and a paper bag, offering practical functionality with its two-way wear—over the shoulder or as a sling. The outer shell is made from premium Takashima canvas, while the interior is lined with soft Enshu cotton, both sourced from established Japanese textile makers. The durability of the canvas, combined with the comfort of 100% organic cotton, is complemented by Weirdcore’s eye-catching artwork, making the bag both fashionable and practical.

CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES
ESC brings contemporary updates to the classic designs of the 5-panel cap, shirt, duty jacket, and work trousers, all of which reflect the vibrant art and music scene of the 1980s. These pieces have been given modern silhouettes, crafted from the finest cashmere-blend wool from a respected Japanese manufacturer known for its high-quality worsted fabrics. The collection also features 100% organic cotton from the esteemed Enshu cotton weavers. Weirdcore’s artistic designs are applied to shirts and stoles by master artisans in Kyoto and Tokyo, ensuring an exceptional level of craftsmanship in every piece.
