The StraLugano event, now in its seventeenth edition, promises an exciting weekend filled with sports and entertainment for all of Ticino. Key highlights of StraLugano 2023 comprise a 5km FunRun, a 10km CityRun, and the Run4Charity. Participants can also look forward to the challenging Monte Brè Challenge Race, a 21km Half Marathon, and the KidsRun, tailored to offer age-appropriate experiences.
A noteworthy aspect of this year’s event is its strong commitment to sustainability. In collaboration with SUPSI, the StraLugano team has implemented various eco-conscious measures, including improved waste management, the use of sustainable materials, and the promotion of eco-friendly transportation. Significant initiatives encompass medals crafted from 95% recycled wood, the incorporation of electric vehicles, and the facilitation of free transportation for participants through the Swiss Runners Ticket.
Beyond the races, attendees can anticipate a plethora of side events that will enliven the heart of Lugano. These events will feature performances by Guggen bands, DJ sets, alpine horns, and a captivating orchestral performance by Superar.
